I’ve known for some time now that Montblanc is more than just a company that makes fine writing instruments and leather goods. They are more than a brand celebrated by those with fine tastes for quality executive goods that boarder on art. They are also a company that understands how to rally powerful individuals and the stars of stage and screen for socials causes. They have a long track record of putting together star studded events that are meaningful as well as successful.

Case in point is a recent event that occurred over the last few days. The Montblanc Presents The 24 Hour Plays, held at The Broad Stage this last Saturday in Santa Monica, California was fundraiser for the Urban Arts Partnership, a group located in New Your City that, “advances the intellectual, social and artistic development of underserved public school students through arts-integrated education programs to close the achievement gap”. In short, it helps kids realize that life is wide open and ready for them to live fully through creative expression. And from what I read on their website, this is an organization that delivers.

For pen enthusiasts, when you mention Montblanc Writing Instruments, the mind immediately steers a course to their nearly legendary fountain pen collection. Meisterstuck, Le Grand, Doue, Starwalker and Skeleton are lines that hold special meaning to those who appreciate fine writing instruments. But just as we often forget that Montblanc has a side that works hard to turn their prestige and notoriety into benefits for social causes, we also forget that Montblanc makes other products as well. And I’m not talking about wallets and other leather goods. I’m talking about the Mont Blanc Pencil.

It makes perfect sense that a company that has nearly perfected every kind of pen would also produce high quality, art-like pencils as well. Although they don’t have as wide a variety as they do in their pen line, they do have many nice pencils that can tame even the most exotic tastes and Executive Essentials carries many of them.

In the EE catalog you will find many of Montblanc’s most notable lines; Meisterstuck, Le Grand, Classique and Starwalker. The bodies of these pencils contain the same high quality construction and glossy texture as their pen lines. However, a standout in the pack is the Montblanc Starwalker. This mechanical pencil operates with a twist mechanism and takes 0.7 mm lead. It features a barrel made of black precious resin with the emblematic Montblanc floating star in its transparent cap top. It has all the style and pizazz of the pen by the same name, only it’s mistakes are not permanent.

Now is the time to take a look at the EE catalog and browse these wonderful Mont Blanc pencils. They all hold a classic look and feel of a Montblanc writing instrument that you have come to love.
